Enjoy Cold Brew This Summer
There is a special place for cold brew among coffee shops and coffee consumers. If you have a favorite coffee blend you want to make into a cool summer drink, opt for a cold brew!
But why choose a cup of cold brew over your favorite coffee order over ice? There is actually a difference in the way iced coffee and cold brew are made.
Cold Brew vs. Iced Coffee
Iced coffee is made like traditional coffee — by using hot water to extract the flavor from the beans. But cold brew is made by soaking coffee beans in room-temperature water to extract all the caffeine, sugar, and oils.
This soaking process gives cold brew a distinctive flavor, while also making cold brew less acidic than hot-brewed coffee. In addition, since the beans used to make cold brew aren’t exposed to high temperatures, you are left with a flavorful drink that really showcases the quality of your beans.

Cold Brew Bulk Recipe
Making a cold brew at home is simple. Just take your favorite coffee beans — like our Tanzanian Peaberry coffee beans — and make a delicious cold brew that helps you find some relief from the summer heat.
Ingredients
5 pounds coarsely ground coffee
3.5 gallons of water
22-quart container
Cheesecloth
Strainer
Instructions
Mix coffee and water together in the container, stir, cover, and leave for at least 18–24 hours.
After the beans have soaked, strain the mixture through the strainer and cheesecloth, repeating if necessary. Let your mixture sit in the fridge and the leftover silt will settle on the bottom. After it settles, you’re ready to serve your cold brew with a 1:1 ratio of concentrate to water.
For a delicious summer treat, serve with cream or milk of choice or add in different Torani syrup flavors and top with whipped cream.
