La Marzocco Equipment Warranty Policy

Kaldi.com — La Marzocco Equipment Warranty Policy

At Kaldi Gourmet Coffee, Inc., as an authorized reseller of La Marzocco commercial espresso equipment, we back every machine purchase with full factory warranty protection and dedicated service support. This Warranty Policy details the coverage, requirements, and claim procedures for all new La Marzocco commercial equipment sold through our sales channels.

1. Warranty Period & Coverage Overview

All new La Marzocco commercial espresso machines purchased directly from Kaldi Gourmet Coffee, Inc. include two complementary warranty protections starting on the original factory shipment date:

  • 13-Month Genuine Parts Warranty: Warrants that all factory-supplied equipment and parts are free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal commercial use and proper maintenance for thirteen (13) months from the date of shipment.

  • 13-Month Commercial Labor Warranty: Kaldi Gourmet Coffee, Inc. provides certified labor coverage for commercial End Users for thirteen (13) months from the date of shipment, matching the manufacturer parts warranty window when installed within our authorized territory.

  • Manufacturer Alignment: Kaldi Gourmet Coffee, Inc. aligns its warranty coverage with the baseline policies established by La Marzocco. Should La Marzocco update, revise, or amend its standard manufacturer warranty terms, terms of coverage, or requirements at any time, such updates shall automatically take effect and be incorporated into this policy as of the effective date set by La Marzocco.

2. Mandatory Installation & Service Requirements

To maintain active warranty coverage, all equipment must meet the following operational standards required by the manufacturer:

  • Certified Technician Installation: Equipment must be unboxed, positioned, plumbed, and calibrated by a factory-trained, authorized technician.

  • Genuine Parts Only: Any preventive maintenance, repairs, or service performed during the warranty period must utilize 100% genuine La Marzocco parts.

  • End-User Qualification: This warranty applies solely to the original End User purchasing equipment for their own commercial use and is non-transferable without prior written authorization.

3. Required Water Quality Parameters

Espresso machines are precision hydraulic systems highly sensitive to water chemistry. Equipment operation without adequate water supply or using water outside La Marzocco's published water specifications will void warranty coverage.

All installations must incorporate a professionally maintained water filtration or softening system that meets the following standards:

Water Parameter Acceptable Target Range
Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) 90 – 150 ppm (mg/L)
Total Hardness 70 – 120 ppm / 4 – 7 dGH
pH Level 6.5 – 8.0 pH
Chlorides (Cl-) Below 30 ppm (mg/L)
Free Chlorine / Total Iron 0 ppm / 0 mg/L

4. Exclusions & Limitations

This warranty covers factory material and manufacturing defects only. The following items and conditions are explicitly excluded from warranty coverage:

  • Standard Wear & Tear Items: Wearable group head components subject to normal operational friction, including portafilter gaskets, group inserts, shower screens, and silicon seals.

  • Water & Limescale Damage: Limescale buildup, internal corrosion, or boiler damage caused by inadequate water treatment or operating the unit dry/without water.

  • Misuse, Abuse & Power Surges: Damage resulting from electrical spikes, improper voltage supply, freezing temperatures, physical accidents, neglect, or unauthorized modifications.

  • Third-Party Servicing: Maintenance or repairs conducted by non-certified technicians or using non-genuine aftermarket parts.

  • Relocation Outside Territory: Equipment moved outside the United States or transferred outside our authorized service territory without prior consent.

5. How to File a Warranty Claim

If an operational issue or component defect occurs during the warranty period, follow these steps to file a claim:

  1. Written Notice: Notify Kaldi Gourmet Coffee, Inc. Customer Support in writing within 15 days of discovering the issue (and before the expiration of the active warranty window).

  2. Provide Documentation: Supply the machine serial number, copy of original proof of purchase, water test records, and a detailed description/photo of the issue.

  3. Inspection & Resolution: Our technical team will evaluate the claim. If required, components must be returned to the facility for factory testing. Confirmed defective components will be repaired, replaced, or credited at our discretion.
